“Well hello,  you’re looking awfully nice

I haven’t seen you ‘round here in quite some time.

You say you took some of my advice.

Well, it must have been good ‘cause you’re sure looking fine.

 

But, to be completely honest, I can’t recall that conversation.

You see, they’re all the same to me, obvious history,

with no relation to why you’d gone.

 

Oh sure, things have changed

but, the more they change the more they stay the same.

His type will always remain

he’s like a river who makes fun of the rain.

 

But, all in all, things are better than before, no use complaining.

Although, I was a bit surprised to hear you’d compromised

without explaining how wrong they were.

 

I think she’s still in town

but she doesn’t come around here much anymore.

Oh, I’m sure she was mighty let down

sometimes the medicine is worse than the cure.

 

Aw but, how long has it been?  A year, then again, maybe longer.

Life keeps rolling on, it’s here and then it’s gone,

it make you wonder,

What Times to Remember, What Times to Forget.”
