The mornings dark and the nights are gettin' long.
I've got about a week until
I'm finished flippin' burgers in that seaside grille.
After work, when I get done
I'll hit the boards and have some fun.

How could I ask for anything more.
Spending the summer down at the shore.

Never quite learned to surf.
I'd paddle out and hang with Murph.
He said he had a degree
in something he called waveology.
Didn't ever shoot the curl
but I sure looked good on the beach with the girls.

Sometimes I feel like  the Duke of Earl.
I am the luckiest fool in the world.

Teasing Shoo-bes walking on the beach
Its not nice but we all need relief.
So pale when they swim in the ocean
I wish I was the one selling suntan lotion.
Packed up at the end of the day
They have to leave, but I get to stay.

I've got a few bucks and an old bike I found.
Don't go too far, but I sure get around.

Playing pinball at Sid's arcade
Don't like the Skee-ball or those video games.
Had a high score, it didn't last
Too many Tommys, but it sure was a blast.
Strolling down the Promenade
A girl on each arm, I've got it made!

Don't need a real job or steady girlfriend
I just need a summer that won't ever end.
