My R is Up My A

My pockets been picked by a Wall Street scoundrel
and now he says he’s lost all my dough.
There are some things you just can't repay.
I was hoping to cash in my IRA pension
and quietly close this show
But now it looks like my R is up my A.
My wheels they are spinning
But I'm getting nowhere
A chain is just as strong as its weakest link.
How far is it to Detroit?
Or maybe New Orleans.
The rich keep getting richer
while the middle class just shrinks.
I’m bailing out banks that charge me Mafia interest
and now they won't loan me a dime.
Looks like the carnival is back in town.
Financial magicians, concerned politicians,
All claiming to be friends of mine
But this all feels like just another shake down.
My wheels they are spinning
But I'm getting nowhere
A chain is just as strong as its weakest link.
How far is it to Philly?
Or maybe NYC.
The poor keep getting poorer
while the middle class just shrinks.
My company has filed for bankruptcy protection
But no one is protecting me.
I only have fifteen years on the line.
Jobs evaporating, prices escalating,
I'm struggling to make ends meet.
My canary has just croaked in my coal mine.
My wheels they are spinning
But I'm getting nowhere
A chain is just as strong
as its weakest link.
How far is it to Boston?
Or maybe Chicago.
The revolution will be starting a lot sooner than you think.
How far is it to Nashville?
Or maybe Baltimore.
The revolution will be starting a lot sooner than you think.
