It all started one morn,

We were all aware,

the operator had no cash; exact fare was required for a...

We said,” This could never be.”

You see, she was from Parkview and he was from

        the West  End.

But every morning in the first seat,

there they’d be, they were huggin’ and a-kissing.

 

It was really sweet,

except for Monday, it was sickening on Mondays.

One day she overslept,

she got to the station and her heart was breaking.

She had to catch the express,

knowing full well that they both rode the local.

 

Imagine her dismay,

when she realized she’d gone to work on a  Sunday!

 (She was so confused)

a mass transit confidante,

an urban transport take-a-chance,

A boat or a plane,

a bus or a train,

it doesn’t matter it’s always the same,

You leave from the front and you pay in advance.
